More and more people are using digital technologies to commit a wide variety of often highly sophisticated crimes in the online space. This problem naturally affects businesses as well. The seminar “Cybersecurity and the Law,” organized by the Brno Regional Chamber of Commerce, will explore how the law views cybercrime, what guidelines to follow, how to proceed, and what to watch out for.

In addition to examples of the most common crimes and methods of investigating and prosecuting cybercrime, attendees will also learn about certain areas of criminal activity in the online environment, such as fraud, hacking, blagging (fraudulent requests for money, often via a fake profile), fraudulent e-shops, and violent speech and hate crimes.

There will also be time for a discussion on current threats and for questions. The seminar will be led by Jiří Sedláček, Executive Director of the Network Security Monitoring Cluster. The event is intended for managers of small and medium-sized businesses, government officials, and mayors of cities and municipalities. Please join us if you are interested in the topic or would like to expand your existing knowledge.

The seminar is part of the Cybersecurity Academy. The event is free, but don’t forget to register. We look forward to seeing you there!
