Why an antivirus program alone is not a security measure

There is still a widespread misconception that antivirus software will protect us from all the negative aspects of cyberspace. Antivirus software is merely a client-side technological solution. It is neither a means of ensuring comprehensive cybersecurity through so-called technical measures, nor is it a security measure in and of itself unless it is accompanied by clearly defined and formalized rules.
