Nearly four hundred visitors, dozens of expert presentations, hands-on demonstrations, and networking events. Brno Industry Week 2025 confirmed that the South Moravian Region is a vibrant hub of industrial innovation, technology, and digital transformation. From April 8 to 10, 2025, Brno became a meeting place for manufacturing leaders, company representatives, cybersecurity experts, and those with the courage to change the industry from within.

“Brno Industry Week is not just another conference. It is a platform for sharing experiences, real-world examples, and open discussion across professions. That is precisely what gives the entire event its unique value,” said Lukáš Smelík, event manager at INDUSTRY CLUSTER 4.0 and moderator of the main program blocks at Brno Industry Week.

The event took place with the support of the South Moravian Region, which has long supported the development of technological innovation and digitalization in the manufacturing sector. The partnership with the region made it possible to expand the program to include regional companies, which often lack direct access to global trends and solutions.

Three days, three program tracks, one goal: to better understand (post)digital reality

The Digital Manufacturing Forum, Smart Manufacturing Forum, and Cyber Security Forum — the three main pillars of this year’s program—covered key topics in both current and future industry. Discussions focused on how companies are handling the networking of OT systems, what the transition to cloud solutions entails, and how to measure sustainability beyond Excel spreadsheets.

“Digitalization is not a goal, but a means. If we don’t understand it in depth, it can easily become a dead end,” warned Alena Lubasová from Strojírny Oslavany during a discussion on post-digital reality in manufacturing companies.

In contrast, Pavel Spajk Matějíček, an ethical hacker and well-known advocate for cybersecurity, offered a different perspective: “Security is like humor. If you don’t understand it, sooner or later someone will make a fool of you—in the worst case, with a ransomware attack.”

From Discussions to Beer: The Industrial Community Is Taking Shape Offstage, Too

In addition to the main program sessions, several hands-on workshops were held—for example, on welding with collaborative robots and the implementation of flexible transport systems from ABB and B&R. Smaller companies and startups also had their chance to shine. And there was no shortage of informal evening industrial networking at Brno’s HARRY Brewery, which proved to be the ideal setting for further inspiration, networking, and new collaborations.

Industry Week isn’t the end. It’s the beginning

“Threats change every month. And our approach to training people and protecting production systems must change as well,” noted Ivo Vrána of Monet+. That’s why it’s essential to keep pace with current developments and continue learning; free training courses from CyberSecurityHubCZ are available for this purpose.

Brno Industry Week was jointly organized by INDUSTRY CLUSTER 4.0 and the Brno Regional Chamber of Commerce/Enterprise Europe Network with financial support from the South Moravian Region. The Cyber Security Forum was organized by CyberSecurityHubCZ and its partners INDUSTRY CLUSTER 4.0, the Brno Regional Chamber of Commerce, and the Network Monitoring Security Cluster.
