Mission outcomes and next steps

The mission confirmed the strong interest of Ukrainian and Czech institutions in developing a strategic partnership in the areas of industrial digitization, innovation, and cybersecurity. The participating partners agreed with representatives of CyberSecurityHubcz and CyberRangecz on the need to continue regularly exchanging experiences, sharing know-how, and seeking joint projects within the framework of European initiatives for industrial renewal and modernization.

For the coming year, the goal will be to take advantage of the outputs from seven missions supported by the Czech Ministry of Foreign Affairs' PROPED program and transform them into specific educational, testing, and research projects to support Ukrainian smart industry, cybersecurity, and other areas.

"The mission confirmed that combining practical experience from Ukraine with Czech research and testing capacities has enormous potential," says Tereza Šamanová.

"Ukrainian industry faces cyber attacks every day – this is their reality, but also a source of valuable knowledge. In return, the Czech side offers an innovative environment and a high level of expertise. Our goal is to systematically process this experience and use it to strengthen the cyber resilience of industry throughout the region."

We build on systematic cooperation

Since 2022, Czechia-Ukraine cooperation has had a clear structured framework and has yielded concrete results. CzechInno regularly organizes thematic missions focused on five key areas: Smart Industry, Smart Cities/Regions, AI, Space, and cybersecurity.

In November 2023, a mission focused on cybersecurity took place, and on this occasion, the first Czechia-Ukraine conference "Cybersecurity Twister Czechia & Ukraine" was held. Fifteen Ukrainian cybersecurity experts met with Czech partners from NÚKIB, Masaryk University, CSIRT-MU, and the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic as part of CyberSecurityHubcz.

The 2023 conference resulted in four memoranda of cooperation between state institutions, academic organizations, and clusters. CyberSecurityHubcz has a memorandum with the Ukrainian Cluster Alliance. These memoranda were followed by specific projects.
